The air coming from the compressor and circulating along lines contains impurities and solid particles such as water caused by humidity of the air and oil produced by the compessor itself.

The polluted air can easily get into the vital parts of the tools and the line itself both of which on the long term will suffer from rust and definitive damage. Thus, the air following in the lines and powering the pneumatic tools needs to be free from any such particle or impurity.

This is achieved by the use of air filters or purificators that can provide the maximum performance with the least pressure drop.
